I believe that the government’s intrusion into the lives of individuals should be minimal and should be limited to the constitutional basis of those powers. The federal government has their set of powers, the state has theirs, and communities have theirs. That said, I believe there are two issues that could make the biggest impact on government reform: Fair Tax and energy independence.
Passing the Fair Tax will reform our government and then our society, which will bring manufacturing jobs and grow the middle class. We must then become energy independent. Energy independence does not guarantee low prices for energy. Energy is a commodity and pricing is based on supply and demand. However, if we control our own supply – instead of foreign interests controlling it – when prices rise we will benefit without an affect to our national security.
