Rested and Recharged

Well, maybe not rested!

Had a big weekend with the family and then settled down on Sunday afternoon to finish the reading for American Politics for this week. We are getting into topics I really like and know a lot about.  I’m over by blues over my midterm and it took a talk with my husband and one phone call to a friend and mentor.

Tomorrow, I meet with my research methods professor and fine tune my project!

So this week, it’s my mission, should I choose to accept it (that’s an old line from Mission Impossible), to have fun, do the reading and stay focused and strategic on the skills I need.

To achieve a PhD, I have to write a dissertation.  I have to complete the classes related to that, learn and master the skills to write the dissertation.  I won’t be a tenure track professor, but I will be a great teacher, a writer about women in politics and someone who makes a difference in the lives of people.

I’m a different kind of grad student and I’ll be successful at it.
