The Best of the Martha Zoller Show – Week of Aug 29 – Sep 2, 2022

Listen to the highlights from The Martha Zoller Show last week on Apple Podcasts here.

I’m back from vacation and I’ve got some great conversations for you this week. I started this week talking with Rahul Bali from WABE who helps explain things like the ruling on the GA Public Service Commission, Lindsay Graham and the Fulton County Special Grand Jury, and suburban voting habits.

Next, Alan Sanders and I discuss the implications of Biden’s “unification” speech and why it continued to polarize the country. The President neglected several important issues and simply demonized the political minority. Messaging problems don’t motivate voters, and this speech is a perfect example of why.

To close, I talk to Alisha Thomas Searcy, a Democratic candidate for GA State School Superintendent. As a wife, mom, and former state legislator, Alisha says her primary mission is to provide leadership and safety in GA public schools. She outlines some of her plans for the Department of Education if she is elected, some of which increase the power and presence of the DOE statewide. Overall, Alisha advocates for mental health resources for teachers and students alike. You can learn more about her campaign at https://searcyforsuperintendent.com/.
