First Day of Class—In 37 years!

I signed up for two classes. I decided to defer math to next year because I don’t want to kill myself in the first semester. This will be a long road for me, but I’m excited to start. I’m taking political theory and research methods this semester. I’m a talker and I love and know a great deal about politics

I Got In!

In late January, I was at a UGA event and Dean Lindquist was there. She came over and said, the letters just went out and you got in! I wasn’t accepted directly into the PhD program, but into a fast track program that will get the course work for your Masters and then go into the PhD. I was happy.

Taking the GRE!

I haven’t taken a standardized test since the mid-1970s. I was always a good test taker so I wasn’t too daunted. Dr. Bullock—my mentor and the professor who will see me through this process once I start—said, “Don’t worry about English. You’ve been writing for 30 years.
